Looking for a scifi novel involving telepathy.

I know its not Anne McCaffrey nor Christopher Stasheff
Story line involved from what I recall a guy going to a planet as some sort of agent and he had to then escape the planet at which point he used his powers he had developed to keep the aliens from capturing him and the ship he was escaping on.
Read it back in the mid 80s but for the life of me I cannot recall the author or title.

I have 2500 books in our collection.....……… LOL! Local librarians love me when I come in to buy the used ones!

Yes, we had to rent a storage locker.....

I know the book you're asking about but damn if I can remember the author.

There's one terrific used book store here - good condition stuff. First-run titles at 5th run prices. I love them!

the past 20 years and there are only 2 left.
You would think there would be a larger demand here since it is a city with a teaching hospital but clearly there is not.

Barely a borough with only about 80K residents in a space larger than most of New England. But books seem to be the way a lot of us get through the winter dark!

In that book, the Long Range Foundation used twin/triplet telepathy to communicate between space-colonization ships and Earth.
