Libby Adame, 51, and Alicia Galaz, 23, were arrested in connection with the 2019 procedure that left Karissa Rajpaul dead, Los Angeles authorities said.

A woman and her daughter in California were arrested and charged with murder after they performed a botched butt injection procedure that resulted in a woman's death, police said.
The incident happened in October 2019, but the women, Libby Adame, 51, and her daughter, Alicia Galaz, 23, weren't arrested until August, Los Angeles police said. They were booked into jail Aug. 5 and released after they posted bond, online jail records show.
Galaz is scheduled to appear in court in December. A court date has not been set for Adame. It was not clear whether they have obtained attorneys.
Karissa Rajpaul, 26, died Oct. 15, 2019, in a hospital after she went to Adame and Galaz for what police described as an "outlaw buttocks augmentation procedure."
"Shortly afterward, the victim died as a result," a police spokesperson said.

A mom and daughter who allegedly posed as plastic surgery pros have been charged with murder after an aspiring adult film actress’ illegal butt augmentation surgery turned deadly.
Libby Adame, 51, and Alicia Galaz, 23, were arrested Aug. 5 in Riverside, California, in connection with the death of 26-year-old Karissa Rajpaul, who died at a local hospital hours after she underwent the botched procedure.
The Los Angeles Police Department told local outlets that the two women posed as specialists while performing the allegedly illegal procedure on Oct. 15, 2019 and likely have operated on a slew of other victims.
“These individuals have no medical training,” LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton told KABC. “They’re not experienced and they’re putting people’s lives at risk.”
After Rajpaul suffered complications from the surgery, the women allegedly called 911 and then left her to die, Hamilton alleged.
