Man sentenced in $4 million meth ring in St. Joseph area
A St. Joseph man who participated in a $4 million drug-trafficking conspiracy was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in federal prison without parole.
Christapher Dean Parton, 32, also known as “Big Baby,” pleaded guilty in April to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
The U.S. Justice Department said in a news release that Parton was given 1 to 2 kilograms of methamphetamine every week from a drug trafficking group in Kansas City.
For about 1.5 years, he took the drugs to St. Joseph, where he distributed about 91 kilograms of methamphetamine. He also admitted trading at least 50 guns for meth.
