Amare Stoudemire punches fire extinguisher, leaves arena with hand stitched and arm in sling

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/heat/knicks-star-amare-stoudemire-punches-fire-extinguisher-leaves-2333542.html

If Stoudemire cannot play in Thursday's Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, he will join Jeremy Lin, who has been out several weeks with a knee injury, and Iman Shumpert, who tore an ACL in Game 1 after working his way into the starting lineup for the last month of the season.

And even though the Knicks have now lost 12 consecutive playoff games - a streak dating back to 2001 - equaling the NBA record held by Memphis for consecutive playoff losses, Woodson put a positive spin on the first two games in which the Knicks have lost by a combined 43 points.

Really stupid on his part

I don't think it would be appropriate to call him a d-bag in this situation. He obviously wanted to win, and this indicates he is upset about the loss.

I agree it is stupid. I only have 3 knuckles on my right hand. Once for hitting a basketball pole for being boxed out too many times(there was more to it such as a loud mouth insulting me throughout the game and dealing w/ a personal problem, the 205th box out just put me over the edge). Again, did I mention I agree it is stupid?

I think Wade punching Kobe is a gymnastic stretch. It was a hard foul that doesn't resemble a punch. Saying players should get paid in the Olympics makes one a D-Bag? Really, asking for a cut of the billions the Olympics receives is what makes someone a D-Bag? Interesting when liberals shred their pro-labor card when it comes to athletes asking for what is fair.

the only sport in the Olympics...there are hundreds of them, and marquee sports allow the others to participate that don't make money...gymnastics makes money for the Olympics...don't hear them asking to get paid...tennis will be a money-maker...haven't heard any of the players asking to get paid...it's once every four years and they're just happy they're around for that chance.

by numerous endorsements. If they're already endorsed, they may get a bonus for reaching certain medals. Some countries even provide bonus payments to participants, mostly boxers.

Wade is the d-bag, but not the Olympics who makes billions. Got it.

No, you're a d-bag when you make more money than you'll ever need and still want more...I say let's give put guys on the team who are happy just for the chance to play.

Oh yeah, just a hard foul, that's all...in the all-star game no less when the point is NOT to foul at all and run up the score...Wade is a d-bag to the nth degree.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/may/02/dwyane-wade-comments-compensation-olympic-basketba/

“It’s a lot of things you do for the Olympics — a lot of jerseys you sell,” Wade told reporters last month. “We play the whole summer. I do think guys should be compensated. Just like I think college players should be compensated, as well. Unfortunately, it’s not there. But I think it should be something, you know, there for it.

“The biggest thing is now you get no rest. So you go to the end of the season; (Team USA) training camp is two weeks later. You’re giving up a lot to do it. It’s something you want to do, but it’s taxing on your body. You’re not playing for the dollar. But it would be nice if you would get compensated.”

Colangelo, speaking Tuesday during a press conference at the Wynn Las Vegas to detail the national team’s Las Vegas practice plans this summer, said there are no reservations with Wade — or the national team’s other stars — about representing their country.

“Afterward, Dwyane recognized that really wasn’t what he meant,” Colangelo said. “He didn’t want it to be a real issue because he certainly has shown his dedication. It was over within 24, 48 hours.”

I guess it's OK for you to work for free, but these guys can't take a rest?? I love that they're playing in the Olympics. And these guys love to represent our country, but when the Olympics are making money off of them and their images don't you find that a little disingenuous
