Jayson Werth: I知 motivated by Phillies fans

I think many of you saw the extremely painful break of Jayson Werth's wrist on Sunday night. I was at the game. Pretty awful. But what was worse were the nasty comments by Phillies fans that were heard in several parts of the stadium: LF RF, upper deck. I heard it a bit but I was so concentrating on seeing if Werth (my favorite player) was okay that I tuned it out. But my friends heard it. Whats worse is what Werth himself heard:

Jayson Werth underwent surgery on his broken left wrist Monday at the Mayo Clinic. He will begin strengthening exercises within six weeks, the Nationals announced. Players with his injury — a distal radius fracture — typically miss 10 to 12 weeks. Werth will work to come back sooner, in part because of how he left.

In an e-mail to the Post, Werth said Phillies fans in right field at Nationals Park taunted him as he walked off the field Sunday night. And he will remember them during his rehab.
“After walking off the field feeling nauseous knowing my wrist was broke and hearing Philly fans yelling ‘You deserve it,’ and, ‘That’s what you get,’ I am motivated to get back quickly and see to it personally those people never walk down Broad Street in celebration again,” Werth wrote.

The Nats will have to deal with stuff like this the better they get.

with the "Take Back the Park" Campaign by the Nats for this weekend series. Nats fans and Phillies fans have been going at it for a couple of months now, but yeah, it really heated up this weekend
