Related: About this forumTim Tebow’s lawyers go after makers of “My Jesus” shirts
A company that has made T-shirts printed with the words My Jesus in a design that looks like the NY Jets logo of Tim Tebows team is feeling the wrath of Tebows lawyers.
The shirt doesnt have Tebows name or likeness on it, but the company, CubbyTees.com, refers to the design as a Tim Tebow New York Jets T Shirt on its website (which was down this morning). TMZ obtained the cease and desist letter Tebows attorneys sent to CubbyTees.com, which says, The Merchandise makes it appear as if Mr. Tebow actually endorses Cubby Tees and its products.
On its website , the shirt company said, This fun design is not officially endorsed by New Yorks backup quarterback or the Son of God, but plays off the themes of Tebows faith and his new team.
Tebows attorneys have already successfully convinced eBay not to sell the shirts, but CubbyTees.com told TMZ it plans to continue selling the shirts.

This is bad. Good for Tebow even if he is a stinkin' Yankee lover now.

(29,149 posts)1. wow -- so Tebow is basically equating himself with Jesus
If "The Merchandise makes it appear as if Mr. Tebow actually endorses" the product even though the "merchandise" itself doesn't mention Tebow at all, but only the word Jesus, is Tebow saying that any mention of Jesus implies Tebow's endorsement?
Perhaps they could get the company to drop the "Time Tebow New York Jets T Shirt" description, but I don't see how he's got any leg to stand on with respect to the design.

It was only five years ago. I guess Pittsburgh didn't know about the roids.

What does it have to do with Tebow?

Looks like some other funny t-shirts there if I can ever get the web page to load.
Here's one:
But now I see most aren't that funny.

"Isn't this ALSO a matter for the Jets front office, if not the commissioner's?"

Shocking.
