Related: About this forumMy predictions for the upcoming NFL season.
The Jets will implode---Ryan will be fired
Manning will last 6 games before he's injured.
Cowboys will play well before Thanksgiving-- horrible after. (That's an easy one)
Pat's will be the Pat's and win multiple games. Super Bowl bound
Giants will be the Giants--mid-season they'll be talking about replacing Coughlin---end of season he'll be a hero.
Chargers--- Sleeper team---loaded. Only drawback---Norv Turner
Ravens are pissed---might kill some people.
Niners--- Will Alex Smith continue getting better---or return to being Alex Smith?
If Broncos lose, El Supremo will switch to multiple avatars.
RG will have a better season than Luck---but unfortunately still plays for the Skins.
Vick injured by game 4 (another easy one)
Seattle just signed T.O.... (use your imagination)
Green Bay is more pissed than the Ravens. Super Bowl bound.
New Orleans---too much off-season shit to overcome.
Brandon Marshall will have a monster season because former Dolphins always do.
Predicting a bit of a bad season for the Steelers
trumad will post at least 5 NFL cheerleader photos this season. Be alerted on for 3.
and finally.... wait for it---wait for it...
My Phins will make the playoffs..... Bank on it!

(31,191 posts)so here's mine:
Smith will continue being Smith. The signing of veteran guard Leonard Davis should revitalize the running game (provided he remains healthy) with the acquisitions of former Giants Brandon Jacobs, rookie LaMichael James, and a returning (and healthy) Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter. A true power running game, which the 49ers haven't had since Larry Allen blocked for Gore in 2006, will take onus off Smith to win with his arm. Provided there aren't several season-ending injuries on defense -- and if WRs Randy Moss has something left in the tank and if Michael Crabtree can finally live up to his billing -- there's no reason this team can't make it to the Super Bowl.
I'm really interested to see the Raiders in the post Al Davis eon. GM Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen have exorcised all that remained of Al; Raiders are now acting like a 21st century football team. They'll improve a little from last year and finish 9-6. With a good draft and off season pick-ups they will be playoff contenders in 2013.
BTW, Seattle has signed T.O. and Braylon Edwards. Good luck with that.

(29,322 posts)but seriously the NFL is hard to predict.
W/ the NFC West it quietly turned into a powerhouse D division. San Francisco finished the season 5th in pass defense. Plus (I think) the #1 rush D. Arizona finished 9th in pass D(though it was top 5 results in final 8 games that carried the average up). Seattle 11. -http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-yards-per-pass-attempt
I'm "predicting" it will be a bloodbath between those 3 teams though if I have to favor someone it would likely be San Francisco. Seattle used their draft picks on an already talented D. They use free agency to improve the offense. I think Arizona has talent on both sides, the question mark is QB but I think they can be successful w/ Skelton(risky prediction). ALso I think St. Louis will be better. A win against a divisional opponent can shake things up as well.
The NFC West is playing the AFC East so you have to factor in unfavorable travel spots (goes for both conferences) which can impact the landscape unpredictably.

(31,191 posts)I think the 49ers have planned to stay in Youngstown between the Vikings / Jets games. It worked great last year. The only other killer trip will be to New England on December 16th. They also play in New Orleans and St. Louis back-to-back.
Seahawks have the Rams and Panthers and Dolphins Bears back-to-back
Cardinals worst back-to-back is the Jets and Seahawks.
Rams only back-to-back road trips are with the Bucs and Seahawks to end the season.

#2 pass D last season, they are excellent at running the ball, Shaub & Andre Johnson.
You said San Diego is a sleeper team when their talent has been thinned the last couple of years. They have Philip Rivers & Ryan Matthews but Houston's rushing attack is much stronger.
I don't know if they will or not but they certainly can. Losing Mario Williams hurts though, his addition is actually why I think the Bills will win more than 7 games.
A big reason why I feel Houston has a shot is they appear to be lock to win the AFC South. (Indy, Jacksonville, & Tennessee). Qualifying for the playoffs is half the battle, can the Texans win 2 or 3 games in a row to make the Super Bowl? Yes.
