Belt won't be writing any books on the art of baserunning. Had they lost, he may have been apologizing on his blog. How often in the same game do you see a player on 2 separate occasions miss a HR by less than a foot and then subsequently get thrown out on the base paths? He's hitting almost .500 for August though, after going .186 in July....that's our Brandon, at least one of them.

He's played long enough to know not to assume anything. So the education of Brandon Belt continues. As good as the Nats are -- and they are very good -- the Giants can field a formidable line-up against them when Belt is hitting. I guess he's also seeing better pitches hitting behind Pence.
