Survey: More Texans support Lance Armstrong, Texas’ secession from the union, than Jerry Jones
Breaking news: not many people in the state of Texas are big fans of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
OK, so maybe this isnt quite breaking news. But if tuning in to local sports talk radio stations or perusing through the comments section on any Cowboys story on our website hasnt taught you this, theres some more evidence that Jones isnt exactly the most well-liked person in these parts.
According to polling conducted last week by Public Policy Polling, only 13% of people polled have a favorable opinion of Jones, the Cowboys owner since 1989.
To put this into perspective, a lower percentage of people polled supported Jerry Jones (13%) than the idea of Texas seceding from the union because of Barack Obamas re-election (20%). Additionally, a greater proportion of people polled had a favorable opinion of Lance Armstrong (16%), who recently admitted to doping during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, than of Jones....
