Leafs: Worst choke job in Stanley Cup playoff history?

Up three -- three! -- midway through the third. Then Reiman turns from a block of granite into Swiss cheese as soon as the B's put on the extra skater.

The only reason I put in the question mark is, there was a team that blew a 3-0 lead in games in the finals back in 1942.

Believe it or not, that was Detroit -- and they blew it to the Make Believes!

I think Boston's 3-0 series choke to Philly was worse. MrSlayer May 2013 #1

Up 3-0 in the series and then up 3-0 in game 7 and choked it all away.

But this was bad and sad. Toronto's fans are long suffering.

They were up by two with less than half a period to go when I dozed off. I went back to check the score, only to see that they lost in OT. I couldn't believe my eyes! I feel sorry for the folks up in Toronto. The Leafs are not my team, but I was pulling for them in this series. It's been so long since they've been in the playoffs, and I don't care for the Bruins. Oh well.

as a life-long Leaf fan.....But, despite Boston's stutters along the way, they were the more physical team right from game one. Leafs found a way too lose. Oh well, its summer now in leaf nation...... Lots to rebuild on, like Gardiner etc., and now some value added bargaining chips to be traded this summer.

in the third quarter after watching the entire game. I just saw the results come across the ticker now and screamed "Holy shit!" and my son came in my room thinking something was wrong. My husband didn't believe me when I told him; we were both watching the game.

Such a loser for giving up on them.

Quite frankly, I felt they were done at 3-1. In a lot of ways they didn't deserve to win, and I would have been fine if they didn't. But, they showed up at the end and pulled it out of their ass, which you can do against a young team like the Leafs.

They won't have it as easy (yes, I mean that) with the Rags.
