Dodgers' celebration called "classless"

by the D-Bags, true, but nonetheless...

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/dodgers-celebrate-nl-west-title-diamondbacks-pool-000142463--mlb.html

The Arizona Diamondbacks asked the Los Angeles Dodgers not to celebrate winning the NL West on their field. So the Dodgers, after beating the D-backs 7-6 on Thursday for their first division title since 2009, went somewhere else to celebrate. The pool at Chase Field.

A pack of Dodgers — Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez, Yasiel Puig, Juan Uribe, Skip Schumaker, Adrian Gonzalez, Kenley Jansen and Michael Young, among them — dashed out to the pool after the win, splashing around like Little Leaguers after a pizza party.

These two teams, of course, have history. You can be sure that brawl from June hasn't been forgotten by either club. And this little jaunt to the pool? How will it go over? Kirk Gibson didn't come out with a pool noodle and a water gun to join the fun, if that's what you're wondering.

In fact, it sounds like D-backs players, fans and even the local media weren't too happy about how the Dodgers decided to celebrate.

edit: None of this would have happened if the D-Bags didn't have a freakin' pool.

Classless? No. It was just a little fun, after all of the fans had left the stadium.

Thank goodness I live in a real metropolitan area. That way there's a decent chance we'll have one major league team every season.

They still stand a decent chance of making it to the AL $elig Bowl. Besides, how can you not love a team once owned by George W. Bush?

edit: Don't you also have a favorite AL team? From Maryland, I believe?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/senator-john-mccain-calls-dodgers-overpaid-immature-arrogant-191033319--mlb.html

The Los Angeles Dodgers' celebratory dip in the Arizona Diamondbacks' pool after clinching the NL West on Thursday isn't just the talk of the baseball world. It's got even one of the country's most famous politicians fuming.

John McCain — the Arizona senator and 2008 presidential candidate — blasted the Dodgers on Friday via Twitter, saying much the same thing that many Diamondbacks fans were saying Thursday. Although, "spoiled brats" is particularly delicious.

No-class act by a bunch of overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brats! "The #Dodgers are idiots" http://www.azcentral.com/insiders/danbickley/2013/09/19/the-dodgers-are-idiots/

The Dodgers are idiots

Not to paint with broad strokes, but the Dodgers are idiots. Yasiel Puig thought it OK to blow off a Diamondbacks legend in his own ballpark, and everyone in Dodger Blue covered for him. A handful of...

Maybe now he'll call for military action against Dodger Stadium. That might make me rethink my antiwar stance!

at least Brandon McCarthy gets it:

Celebrating is fun. I don't care how and where you do it. Only thing to care about is what we need to do to celebrate in our pool next year.

See you next year, D-Backs, when I'm sure you'll equate throwing a baseball at someone's head with swimming in one's pool uninvited.
