Stanford players dress as nerds after beating Oregon..

Reporter to Kevin Hogan: "why are you guys wearing nerd glasses?" Kevin Hogan: "It's Stanford."

The game itself was never as close as the score indicates. Physically dominating performance by Stanford. Laying waste to the Ducks NC hopes for the second year in a row. It was nice to see some old fashioned football for a change..

Really almost let that game get away, yeah, they beat them down pretty good, but they they completely fell apart in a few minute stretch that might have been disatrous.

(No, Proud, I have not read your reply to my post. I've got you on "Complete Ignore." Nothing personal. I just know you won't budge an inch from your position, no matter what evidence is presented to you. I'm sure you consider me to be a fool or evil incarnate.)

I found the following statement at a nifty article to which I've posted a link below, as follows:

You can’t be just the typical meathead at Stanford University, you need to be outstanding in academia too. And it’s because of that they often get some hate — for being smart. . . . Senior linebacker Shayne Skov, sophomore linebacker AJ Tarpley and senior running back Tyler Gaffney all showed up with “nerd” glasses, you know with the tape in the middle, to prove that you can have the brains to go with the braun.

Now I understand why they wore the "nerd" glasses. That gives me peace of mind. I was afraid they were mocking nerds, a group of kids who continue to be marginalized at sports-centric high schools. Again, with no good reason.

But in this case my suspicions were apparently uncalled for. I can admit when I've been wrong. I can live with that.
