My future home team is blacked out!

Last edited Thu Nov 28, 2013, 09:19 PM - Edit history (1)

The first blackout of the NFL season comes Sunday in Southern California.

A 1:25 p.m. game between the Chargers and Bengals won't be locally televised, the team announced Thursday. It had more than 5,300 general tickets unsold as of the league's afternoon deadline, too many to warrant a 24-hour extension from the league.

(snip)

The team will wear its powder blue jerseys for the game, it will induct its entire 1963 AFL Championship team into the Chargers Ring of Honor at halftime, and it's coming off a 41-38 win in Kansas City that, to a large degree, saved its season.

But energy surrounding the matchup couldn't jolt sales.

Shit! The Broncos have sold out every regular season game since 1970. What is wrong with San Diegans?

Ever since Comcast made it impossible for me (without shelling out more $) to record a program while watching another, I never bought a DVR. I still have my VCR.

But no thanks. I'll be watching the Broncos beating the Chiefs again.
