It's gotten that bad.
Denver Broncos fans have dealt with the perceived bias of CBS analyst Phil Simms for years. I've always tolerated it - fans often claim an analyst or ref is biased, and being an objective color commentator is difficult when you're rooting for close games.
But now that Denver has Peyton Manning, and the Broncos are ratings juggernauts, CBS has decided to make them their afternoon game featuring their #1 crew of Jim Nantz and Simms virtually every week. It's all Simms, all the time.
And it's torture for Broncos fans.

(16,113 posts)I think it makes it more fun. I always enjoyed listening to Tim McCarver start hyping up Mariano Rivera in the 3rd inning when the Yankees were up by a run or two, and just beside himself when the Red Sox were able to put up a few runs on him in the 9th.

(10,893 posts)it good to be able to worry about who is announcing over their games instead of the actual game itself. Being someone who is neither a fan of the team nor from the Colorado area, I don't know about his bias, but in general, I don't care about sports analyses much. I only watch the game, and I would even be satisfied with just a stadium P.A. or silence instead of somebody talking virtually 100% of the time while the game is on. I don't need somebody to basically tell me what I already heard or saw.
