Actually they need a real QB.

(35,434 posts)1. The Cardinals have a lot of talent, but no QB.
2. The NFC West is a winnable division.
3. He'd be playing with maybe the best WR in the NFL, Larry Fitzgerald.
4. He'd play at least 9 games indoors or under optimal weather conditions

I don't see it.

So, what about Kolb's $7 million? Funny, but the Cardinals are kind of in a similar situation to the Colts only with far less money involved.
Could the team pay Kolb's bonus to keep him as insurance and still have the resources to go after Manning?
Would the team tie up that much money in one position?
And where does John Skelton, the only guy left who can safely run a QB sneak, fit into all of this?

I personally don't think it would happen, only do I see it possible is if Peyton is free agent.

(44,576 posts)After three operations, he's still waiting for a medical green light for full-time rehab, and even that in itself isn't a guarantee he'll return to form. Who's going to hire him on his name alone?

(16,113 posts)If I understand, the kind of injury he has MIGHT be one he can play with, but would also run the risk of serious permanent injury with one big hit. His older brother Cooper already had a spine issue that prevented him from playing beyond HS, and has done well for himself, and that may lead him to not want to take the chance. I think Manning will stick around football as a coach or analyst, but I think his playing days are over.
