Kinky Friedman calls Chris Christie and Jerry Jones gay on ESPN, host apologizes for comments

Kinky Friedman — writer, musician and serial Texas political office seeker — told an ESPN host on air that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones are gay.

"Jerry Jones and Chris Christie are probably the most important, latent homosexual relationship since Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson," Friedman said in an interview on Wednesday.

When host Bob Ley said, "You don't really mean that, obviously," Friedman replied, "They both desperately want to be loved ... and I agree that being in the owners' box is not the way."

Ley apologized for Friedman's remarks following the segment.
