(32,096 posts)it is amazing how he keeps going. He turned pro in 1998 so that's 17 years. I keep wondering what he will do when it's finally time for formal retirement. He and Mirka have built that beautiful home in Switzerland and they do seem to like to go off the grid during off-season. But then again he is a very driven person and I can't see him sitting around all day. Maybe he'll do the senior circuit and exhibitions.

BTW, those photos you posted were great...but I am really happy he got rid of that long hair!

(77,091 posts)...... I think he'd love to break the Wimby tie with Pete Sampras. ..... And really, what is there left for Roger to prove? How he stays as motivated as he does amazes me.
that would be a big deal for him. He did win the french, Pete did not, but he did not have to beat Nadal to do it. So getting more Wimbledons would be huge.
Honestly it's been a heck of a ride though and I wouldn't blame him if he retired today. Although I would of course miss him!
