Is there a "war" going on in this forum?

Twice in two days I've seen GD posts referencing a "war" in the Sports forum that is somehow my fault. I've posted here twice in six months, I think. Did I start a "war" and then miss it completely?

Confused.

4. I didn't notice a war, but I did notice something you might find interesting...

For 4 months we've read many many posts about Tom Brady, the Pats and deflated footballs. Some from sports forum regulars and others from "pop-ins" who just wanted to voice their displeasure about this horrible attack on the integrity of the game. When pressed, I have yet to see a single person who says this is because they just don't like the Pats, or just don't like Brady. It's always about the "integrity of the game".

In the last 10 days or so, not one, but TWO, pitchers have been caught red-handed doctoring baseballs (from Milwaukee and Baltimore, I believe). It wasn't "more probable than not", it wasn't "we saw something on TV but no one checked it", the umpire came out, checked the shit on the pitchers arm, and tossed them. Since then, I've seen not one single post about the integrity of the game, not one person concerned about cheating, not one person concerned with illegally doctoring the equipment. I haven't seen a flurry of ESPN reports on it, commentators speculating as to what sort of effect this would have, musing about the possible penalties and impact on the game, leak after leak (of varying accuracy) about what has been discovered, or demanding that MLB crack down hard on this. After the initial report that it happened, there was just silence.

7. Will Smith seems to be appealing his, but his will probably be similar.

The suspensions should probably be different for relievers vs. starts based on how often they pitch (Pineda got 10 games), but I don't think 8 games is really all that far out of line. In the end, for someone caught for the first time, I don't really have an issue with 8 games, though I think a second offense should be far more significant. It seems like this sort of thing is fairly common, though rarely called out unless the pitcher makes it pretty obvious.
