Is this an epidemic? Half of the Giants' starting fielders are on the DL.

Nori Aoki: Concussion (.302 BA)

Joe Panik: Lower back inflammation (.309 BA)

Hunter Pence: Left oblique strain (.275 BA)

Angel Pagan: Right patella tendinitis (.258 BA, but was much higher before his injuries)

I'll even throw in a Pablo Sandoval for free!

They both come with gloves in new unused condition!

The Giants just announced they have added an outfielder, acquiring 37-year-old Marlon Byrd from the Cincinnati Reds for Double-A pitcher Stephen Johnson.

Byrd was hitting .237 for the Reds, but he has the ability to pop one. He has 19 homers in 359 at-bats.

“He still has some old-man strength,” former Reds teammate and current Giants pitcher Mike Leake said. “I think he’ll help out.”...

The 2010 All-Star adds badly needed depth to a Giants bench that had Madison Bumgarner pinch-hit once in each of the past two games at St. Louis.
