The Trophée Bompard Grand Prix figure skating competition in Bordeaux, France, was canceled due to the state of emergency and national mourning days in France, organizers announced shortly before the second half of competition was to begin Saturday.
The International Skating Union (ISU) and the French Figure Skating Federation express their deepest sympathy to the victims of the despicable terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, the ISU said in a statement.

The events short programs took place Friday before the Paris attacks. The event was the fourth in a six-event Grand Prix series that serve as qualifiers for Decembers Grand Prix Final in Barcelona, the second-most prestigious annual figure skating event behind the World Championships.
Gracie Gold and Japans Shoma Uno led after the womens and mens short programs Friday.
Ill propose that the results of the short program provide the basis for the selection to the {Grand Prix} Final, so that the skaters present here are not penalized by having participated in only one Grand Prix, ISU figure skating manager Peter Krick said, according to Icenetwork.com. This, however, is only a proposal, as the ISU Council will have to make a formal decision. But I am confident the council will follow it, so that no one will suffer to have only one Grand Prix event.

Gracie Gold was 7.69 points ahead of her nearest competitor Julia Lipnitskaia in the short program and skated a clean program with a triple lutz-triple toe loop combination.
Patrick Chan of Canada was in 5th place and Max Aaron of the USA was in 7th place in the men's event. The two participants from France were in 10th and 11tth place.
The ice dance team of Madison Hubbell / Zachary Donohue were in 1st place in the ice dance competition.

(112,105 posts)If they use the results from the short programs then that pretty much locks Gracie Gold into the Grand Prix finals. We will also likely a third team in for the ice dance.
However, the seventh place showing for Max Aaron will probably knock him out of qualifying for the final since he has the sixth highest point total and there are skaters from China and Japan that will probably overtake his point score.
