And the 1-and-dones prevent one team from dominating every year like the women's game.
The talent level is pretty even in the men's game and any team can win on any given day, imo.

The only consistent factor is the coaching. It's not an accident that we see some of the same group of coaches almost every year in the final four.

In the old days the great teams were great for a number of years and they got all the talent. Think of MJ, Worthy, Perkins. 2 HOF's and a top notch player on one team. Now mid majors can compete because their players play 4 years and the teams with the better talent only play together for one year. Teamwork makes up for less talent.
