I didn't know that. I guess i remember Korbut and Comaneci, neither of whom was near 16 when they were first in the Olympics.
Didn't know they changed the rules.

What I'm not sure of is whether it's a US Gymnastics rule or an Olympic rule.

The IOC has very few eligibility rules leaving such decisions up to the respective sports federations.

Those that thought a member was too young in 2008 competed 4 years later still looked too young. Perhaps not living in China we have no idea how young.
