It actually starts tomorrow morning with the breed judging. And you can watch that live here at: http://characterchatter.usanetwork.com/wkc/show.php

My kids love watching the show with us. They get dog treats and everything when they bark for the wieners!!

Three of the best dogs ever. Doxies are the best breed. Just like Lay's - you just can't have 1!!

(23,435 posts)That this gets more coverage than women's sports sucks big time.
Upton
(9,709 posts)way more people watch Westminster than women's sports. You want some coverage?...Get some ratings.
Auggie
(32,981 posts)or media in general?

Auggie
(32,981 posts)so I would expect it to be a big media event.
I'd have to agree with Upton -- the broadcast ratings aren't quite there nationally except for Women's Figure Skating and perhaps Gymnastics. And dare I say -- beach volleyball?
Fortunately, LPGA and Women's Basketball -- college and pro -- seem to be thrive on cable. Softball too.
BTW, threads on women's sports and your thoughts regarding them are always welcomed.

(76,122 posts)The announcers commented on how classically shaped that dog's chest was. But, apparently that is an even bigger deal than i grasped.
El Supremo
(20,429 posts)What a terrible name!

Upton
(9,709 posts)I believe he's a repeat winner from last year. Westminster is fixed..or at least it's slanted so the dolled up dogs.. pekes, poodles, etc...always have the best chance. That's not the way it's supposed to be..

El Supremo
(20,429 posts)is now the favorite to win it all. He did win group last year too.
Not my kind of dog.

(35,553 posts)I really thought the doxie would pull it out....it sounded to me like the audience like her too.....and that doberman was just awesome..... but I guess the mop thingie was pretty cool. I really enjoyed the final round last night, they all were winners.
RockaFowler
(7,429 posts)That big furball just waddles. The Doxie, Doberman, Kerry Blue, Dalmation, Irish Setter & German Shephard were such beautiful dogs. Of course I have a soft spot for the Doxies, but the others were just so regal looking.
