Broncos hire Van Joseph (Dolphins Defensive Coordinator)

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000772838/article/vance-joseph-expected-to-be-named-broncos-coach?campaign=tw-nf-sf50458810-sf50458810

The Denver Broncos have found their new head coach.

Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who was considered a leading candidate for the job after Gary Kubiak's retirement last week, is expected to be hired as the Broncos' head coach by the end of the day, sources informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Joseph interviewed with the Broncos on Tuesday, two days after Miami's wild-card playoff loss to the Steelers. He then returned to the Broncos' facility Wednesday to talk to the team more before eventually being offered the job.

Even before Kubiak formally announced his retirement, Rapoport noted Joseph was considered the frontrunner for the job.

Not sure I understand how he got this job. The Dolphins D stunk this year.

But the move surprises me because they already have Wade Phillips, not sure you need another defensive mind.

"Joseph is a former University of Colorado player and assistant coach -- he was a former college teammate of the Broncos' current director of player personnel Matt Russell, who was one of the Broncos' front-office executives to sit in on the team's interviews with Shanahan, Toub and Joseph."

especially given how adaptable he is with personnel. He led Kyle Orton to his best seasons and went to the playoffs with Tim Tebow, for crissake.

Bill Musgrave, on the other hand, I'm skeptical of.
