1. Nope...not unless he can prove it on the field

His instagram and social media posts don't appear to look like he's anywhere close to being sober and he looks like he's lost most of the muscle mass he had in college.

He was a great college talent but he allowed his demons and, frankly, his own hubris to ruin his professional career.

2. I could see him getting a workout if he demonstrably changes.

If he can get by that, perhaps a contract at minimum.
That's a big if, though.

For now, he's a leper.

Johnny Manziel and Ray Rice invited to play in brand new spring football league

If Johnny Manziel wants to return to football in 2017, it looks like he's going to have an option.

An independent football league, known as the Spring League, is set to kickoff in April, and the CEO of the league wants to include former NFL stars like Ray Rice, Vince Young and Manziel.

"If Johnny Manziel is serious about a future in the NFL, the Spring League is willing to provide him with a platform to prove he's still relevant," CEO Brian Woods told the Associated Press on Friday.

The league officially launched on January 9 with an announcement from longtime former NFL scout John Peterson, who will be serving as the league's president.

He may believe he's due beer and travel money and many experiences, but this gig actually provides free room and board.

If he can keep his sh*t together, this is undoubtedly will be his route back. His timing is good.

I'd wager he'll find a way to screw it up in a spectacular fashion. That's simply his nature.

4. Regrettably, his sobriety ends when the weekend begins.

He has shown hardly any discipline in his life during college and the past few years and it would require a major change in character to start now. It must deflate his ego to see that he receives so little publicity so this is his attempt to remain relevant.

11. "sober" does not equal "good"

I had fun watching him in college, but was always skeptical that his game would translate to the NFL anyway--even before his personal issues completely derailed him.

12. This is his "sober" behavior?

He tweeted Drumpf and later deleted his Twitter account. This was his message:

"Yo, POTUS even I know to stay away from the notifications section on twitter. S--- will drive you crazy, lead the country and let them hate," Manziel tweeted Monday afternoon, followed by a tweet that read: "Control what you can control and let the rest fall by the wayside."
