Related: About this forumTom Brady to play another 6 or 7 seasons?!?! Pats' owner Robert Kraft says it's possible
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
That's the target range Brady highlighted in a recent conversation with owner Robert Kraft.
"As recently as 2-3 days ago, he assured me he'd be willing to play six to seven more years and at the level he performed," Kraft said Monday at the NFL's annual meeting. "There's no one that would be happier than I, and our fan base."
Brady turns 40 on Aug. 3, and the question of how much longer he'll play has been widely discussed and analyzed, in part because it could affect the Patriots' plans with backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who enters the final year of his contract.

(56,177 posts)I think he has three years left, and perhaps one more ring.

(17,255 posts)They signed Brandin Cooks, who will be another great target for Brady.
Looks like they're letting Blount walk, and they've only picked up Rex Burkhead so far. Maybe they'll continue to run the ball by committee, but i suspect they'll be trying to land a higher yardage guy.
And what's Jimmy Garoppolo's fate? Lots of talk of a trade already and this talk of Brady potentially sticking around forever will probably make Garoppolo want to get out of town for sure.

(9,895 posts)If I were he, I would be inclined to stop pressing my luck lest I end up mangled and damaged under a pile of linemen.
He has it all right now...most SB wins, biggest comeback win, highest number of wins...but he is also a Trump supporter and a scumbag that should get out before he is rudely injured out or scrapped after his physical skills are eroded.
The thing about age and athletic performance, it is not usually a smooth, slow decline but rather an abrupt falling off a cliff that hits athletes beyond their prime. For running backs, that is nearly universally age 30. For quarterbacks with injuries, it is usually 35 and for the lucky few without - Favre, Testaverde, etc. - the brick wall is 40.
It will be fun watching Brady try to beat father time...the only undefeated champion in EVERY pursuit.

(9,527 posts)It's amusing to me that with multiple examples of cheating from the team and Brady coupled with Brady and his medical guru being spanked by the FTC for selling snake oil (the guru has been spanked twice and falsely claimed to be a doctor) that nobody thinks to question if Brady is taking PEDs. It's not like there's a history of ethical behavior in the Patriots organization.
Hell Tom Brady defends his guru selling snake oil that claimed to cure cancer, Parkinson's, and MS with one "drug". I guess he couldn't find orphans to scam.

(16,113 posts)people have already thought to do that.
On the other hand, people were willing to very quickly drop the whole thing even though Manning was getting HGH shipped to his house. Many other players were named and implicated in that report (that also quickly went away), so it seems like PED's in football is the sort of thing people only complain about when players they don't like get caught. They league itself certainly has no interest in looking into any of this any more than necessary.
This is like when Sam Hurd, Bears WR and drug dealer to the NFL, got caught by the FBI, and then miraculously, no one was ever named and the whole story just disappeared.
Having said all that, there's no way Brady will make it another 7 years. I'd give him 4 at most, and maybe 2 more really good ones.
