(17,305 posts)put catcher Kevin Plawecki on the mound to pitch the 7th and 8th innings because their pitching staff was so battered. Plawecki gave up four hits and allowed four earned runs.
What a day!

(38,456 posts)Thor has an arm so sore he can't lift it, the Mets set him up for an MRI, he refused to go and they let him pitch today---with disastrous results.
He should have been told to get the MRI or you don't pitch. Who knows how long he's out for now.

(17,305 posts)Or Toronto, as it's better known, promising young starter Aaron Sanchez was lifted from the game after one inning of work with a split fingernail. He had just been on the 10-day DL after having minor surgery on that finger due to recurring blisters.
The Blue Jays have struggled to open the season and one wonders whether Sanchez was rushed back into action too soon in an attempt to help turn around the teams fortunes.
Like with Syndergaard, now everyone sits and waits to see how many more starts will be missed.
