they should have beaten bama the last 2 games and that is why I think UGA gets in. OU and OSU suck.

That is the nature of the playoffs all of the top recruits are concentrated with Alabama knowing that might be their only shot to win a title.

(3,163 posts)Jalen came into the game and Georgia went to a zone pass defense, abandoning the man defense they had used all night against Tua with stunning success, forcing punts after 3 or 4 plays five times and intercepting him once.
Hurts scored touchdowns on both possessions in which he played; was 78% passing (and a touchdown) to Tua's 40%, and had 28 yards rushing (and another touchdown) in five carries to Tua's -21 yards.
It was a terrible coaching call because the idiot forgot that Jalen Hurts is not a rookie backup. It was made worse by him learning nothing from Hurts' first touchdown, because they played him the same way on his second possession.

(2,149 posts)They might have an inherent bias that considers defense and decide OSU's sucks less than OU's. Or that the recent points OSU put up were more impressive because Michigan and Northwestern have better defense than WV and TX.
It looks like OU is in tonight. But I won't be surprised if the selection committee comes to some other consensus that makes sense to the selection committee

(3,163 posts)It will be Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Had Georgia won, Ohio State would have needed to win big, and even that might not have been enough. But with Georgia losing, all the Buckeyes had to do was win.

(3,163 posts)I forgot about Oklahoma. I'm getting old, and your memory is the first thing to go. I forget what the second thing is. Anyway, I was thinking strictly about Ohio State in comparison to the SEC game.
Maybe Ohio State could have won big enough to leapfrog over Oklahoma, but they did not even come close.
Having seen all three championship games, and noting that Alabama and Oklahoma both trailed for quite a while, I guess the committee could make a case for Georgia or Ohio State, but I would not buy either one.

No one west of the Mississippi River.

(3,163 posts)If Stanford went 12-0 with an average winning margin of 49 points, would the committee consider them? I think they would cite a "strength of schedule" factor to exclude them.
As in, "Well, hell, anyone could have whupped Arizona."

(29,322 posts)After the SEC West of course.
These teams don't play each other and there's over 100 teams. The MWC plays good football too.

(31,163 posts)Four teams is a farce
JayhawkSD
(3,163 posts)But, but, but... They have eight divisions, NFL fans scream in horror. How can only four teams be in the playoffs? You are nuts. You are stupid beyond belief. You know nothing about football. How can you have two divisions who are not represented in the playoffs?
(Not only do eight NFL division winners enter the playoffs, so do four non division winners.)
College football has TEN divisions, plus a group of independents.
So your point would seem to be valid. "Farce" might be a mild way of putting it.
