I know that Albert Bell was being paid by the White Sox, Indians, and Orioles well after he was finished paying. Bobby Bo's is unique though.

They're dealing such large sums up front it's smart to spread it out over years.

In basketball, what do think about Kevin Durant leaving 57m on the table from the Warriors to sign with the Nets for that much less? 57m. It's like the sums are so large they don't care about a few million here or there.

The Wilpons probably wish they could get him in the lineup, since they have to pay him anyway.
