Former Clay High, UF swimmer Caeleb Dressel wins 3 more gold medals
Time to crown Caeleb Dressel as the worlds king of the sprints.
In the space of less than two hours on Saturday morning, the former Clay High School and University of Florida star won three gold medals and set another world record, running his meet total to six victories at the FINA world swimming championships in Gwangju, South Korea.
Dressel is one race away from capturing his seventh gold medal of these championships. Michael Phelps accomplished that feat in 2007, and Dressel equaled it at the 2017 championships in Budapest, Hungary.
But thats only one part of the history for Dressel, who became one of only four swimmers in history Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Katie Ledecky are the others to win four individual events at a single world championship.
He has now won all four world championship sprints in the freestyle and butterfly, and owns the United States record in all four events after a sizzling Saturday in the pool.
