17. A season to savor ...

they don't come around that often, but when they do -- especially in the case of your underdog Nats, it is indeed sweet. I'm hoping I'll get to see a Cleveland pennant in my lifetime. The clock is ticking down.

I'm happy for fans of course, but also long-time players, many who've labored out of the limelight. Yan Gomes, Asdrubal Cabrera (former Cleveland players), Kurt Suzuki, Ryan Zimmerman, Howie Kendrick ... plus guys like Nate Scherzer and Steven Strasberg, who have been so good for so long.
