Related: About this forumAh, anyone watching the two young tennis players from the USA that are going
to rule the tennis world??? Its going to be a fun couple of decades for womens tennis. Kinda like when the Williams sisters ruled tennis for dang near forever. Serena is still doing fine, but shes a momma, and what, 37????? and Venus shes what 39???? Yah Coco Gauff, and Sophia Kenin ARE the new USA face of womens tennis.

(630 posts)She looked pretty sharp as the match wore on, breaking in the 3rd from game point. Gauff is impressive, though. Commentators were remarking that she's grown since last year, longer arms, more physicality in her shoulders, etc. Another reminder of just how young she really is.

(2,023 posts)...just because, on principle, I don't think they should let 15-year-olds participate in these adult tournaments. Let them participate in the juniors tournaments until they reach 18; that's what the junior tournaments are for. You have to be at least 18 to drive, sign contracts, sign leases, join the military ... you should have to be at least 18 to play in these adult tournaments, too. IMHO.

(7,153 posts)I don't know if winning the first set tie-breaker was too much for Gauff.
But both Gauff and Kenin (and their partners) are still in the women's doubles.

(27,801 posts)Nothing would be better for the women's side than some established rivalries, which hasn't happened in a long time. I enjoyed both players, and I'd love to see them go head to head in the future.
