Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, known as Prime Time during his playing career, wants to be known by a new moniker after Jackson State hired him as its head football coach.
Hey, its done. I think the ink has dried. It has happened. Start calling me Coach Prime from now on because Im not going to answer to anything else, Sanders said with a big smile on a video that was posted on social media.
Jackson State, an NCAA Division I FCS program that plays in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, officially named Sanders the programs head coach Monday, Sept. 21. Sanders said Sunday on this podcast he was going to be the schools next head coach.
Jackson State posted a 4-8 record last season, but the program has a storied history, producing four Pro Football Hall of Famers, including Chicago Bears great Walter Payton, one of the top running backs in NFL history with the nickname "Sweetness."
