...I think it fair to correct your comment.
The controversy was not about a racial slur. It was an anti-gay slur.
He missed a putt by leaving it short and called himself a "f****t".
The kind of thing where I'd call myself a coward for being afraid to hit it.
Not that what he said is any better than any racially based slur, but it wasn't racial.

that word, not anyone else. They seemed to think it was ok because he didn’t call anyone else it, just himself. I couldn’t tell them it WAS wrong regardless.
