1. Trump was refused membership at the toney Maidstone Club in East Hampton and other established clubs. He bought Mar-A-Lago, Bedminster, and Doral and created his own clubs.

2. Trump couldn't buy an NFL team, so he created the U.S. Football League.

3. Trump couldn't salvage the PGA refusing to use any of his golf courses, so he went to the Saudis to compete with the PGA.

9. He didn't create the USFL. He bought the Generals in their second year.

He did kill it however, by convincing the other owners they needed to play in the fall, and to sue the NFL for “billions.” The judgment was $1.00, which was increased to $3.00 (trebled), leading to the demise of the league.

and the press that covers the sport would never let people forget what he did, but this is golf and it seems like the golf press tries way too hard to be friendly toward the golfers and is more concerned about access than covering the sport critically.

This whole Saudi Golf Tour gambit might be serving a couple purposes for the Saudis.

One it might be another slap in the face of the Biden Administration..











While pumping up Trump...










They'll be playing at least a couple of Trump's courses..




Also, as mentioned on a local talk show, the Saudis have so much money to throw at this that it's just a matter of how far they want to take it.
