Watching these pre Wimbledon tennis matches.......I'm noticing a lot more drop shots being

played. I don’t remember so many being attempted and played as now. Love to see it. And Carlos is OUT for Wimbledon….elbow issues. Dang it, really gonna miss seeing him.

I agree about the drop shots. Also seeing lots of slices—Simon is using them well against Medvedev.

“As u all know, I was super excited to play at @QueensTennis but a slight elbow issue means I can’t! I hope to be there in 2023… see u all in the UK in a few days!” tweeted Alcaraz announcing his withdrawal. He had also skipped the 2022 Rome Masters due to an ankle injury and this elbow injury will see him miss his second tournament of the season due to an injury.

They just hit the ground strokes so hard now, on every surface, that the dropper is a good way to mix up the game. Some of those guys and gals want to hit 50 shot rallies from the baseline.

Hit the dropper to bring them in, then hit a passing shot, or lob over their head. Easy Peasy.

I’m guessing Carlos is Alcaraz? I believe he played many matches this spring, due to all his winning. Hope he is better soon.

Not a big tennis fan but I read an interesting (to me) article on the ESPN a while ago.
