2. Interesting fact about Kareem

He only made one three-pointer during his entire career (on 18 attempts). It was a much different game back then.

Meanwhile, Lebron has buried 2,233 three pointers during his years in the NBA.

5. That's overshadowed by the number of games played

by each player, IMO.

Kareem: 1,560 games

Lebron: 1,408 games

So Lebron has the higher points per game.

6. True, but I notice in the stats above that Jabbar played more games

That is assuming column #2 (GP) means "games played" 1560 to 1408

I do not know if Jabbar's higher number results from more playoff games or if there is some other factor.
Whatever, both were/are remarkable basketball players.
I hope Jabbar is present when James finally passes him.

7. Since they both played 20 years, that means Jabbar was 4 years older in the 20th year.

Probably easier to score more points in your early 20's than it is in your 40's. Plus like was stated earlier, three pointers made a huge difference. Kareem has a higher FG %

Wonder how many more free throw attempts James has? Seems like the star players get favorable treatment by the refs. Don't remember it being like that nearly as much before.

Of course, James is likely not yet retiring.
