One of her boyfriends was the captain of team. I never attended a match but was interested. This system may help the sport.

as a midshipman at Annapolis in the late 1920s. He always taped a small ivory elephant to the inside of his wrist as a good luck charm when he fenced.

My mom knew Helene Mayer from Mills College and often told me of her incredible story. After reading this bio, I can appreciate her even more.

Oh, the technically perfect photograph was taken by none other than Imogen Cunningham who was a fixture on campus back in the day; Mom told me stories of her, too.
