I was wondering if she might have been the jockey at first, but then a trainer, that is awesome.

But sadly, a female POTUS, after the the last few elections with a female candidate, I don’t think we’ll see a female president in my lifetime.

There was a joke back in the day ‘ God, will we ever have a Black president in our life time? God replied, not even in my lifetime.’

I really hope I am wrong, but when Hilary lost, it just about broke my heart. When Kamala lost, it just confirmed that some men/women will also vote against their best interest.

Enough, sad just thinking about it.

They probably only make 75% of male jockeys' pay. If that. It's a good old boys club like in most other traditional institutions.

Got to see the Kentucky Derby and to watch the trainer's horse come from W-A-A-A-Y-Y-Y back in the field and then pass all those ahead was truly impressive. We had company and didn't get to watch the Belmont Stakes. The trainer's horse, Golden Tempo, won both races coming from the far back. Thrilling! To have finally broken the gender barrier for racehorse trainers for the most prestigious events in horse racing was really rewarding for me to watch. But to do it twice, one of only 13 horses to do so, really is something.

Oh, some say he had a great passage in the Derby, NOT TODAY BABY!!!! He kicked ass all race long. Insane. He even increased his speed at the end of the race. INFREAKINGSANE.

He had picked a couple other horses as well, so we were both rooting for 3 different horses, but both wanted Golden Tempo. So…..how much did ya win??

the more I feel that it is unethical.

Did you know that almost all horses pushed to the extremes of racing experience bleeding in their lungs?

Took my husband to the track a few times. (Aquduct) ?
Hubby asked them once "Are these Jockeys and others on the up and up" Many years ago.

This is chilling,, One of the dudes said "Well, you know....some people will kill somebody for 5,000 dollars"
....."and you don't think that they'll cheat a horse race for 25,000 ??"

Whoa...

as my Sufragete great grandmother stomps, claps, and cheers.

My great grandmother, born during the Irish Potato Famine, stood under five feet tall, immigrated after husband #2 died with 4 daughters in tow, and opened stables where she bred and trained race horses. She was never recognized for her work with horses (how unseemly!) but did cast her first vote shortly before her death.

I know she'd be pleased by this news.....at last.
