(4,890 posts)This show appeals to the old auto technician in me, as I had instances where I've had to operate vehicles that were to be honest, not safe. That said, I certainly don't agree 100% with their decisions at times to street some of the vehicles they take on their road trips. Many of them are NOT road worthy, and to be quite frank, are a danger to be operating.
My other favorites are Garage Dreams and Engine Masters. Garage Dreams profiles everyday people and their cars/bikes. No high dollar builds, just ordinary folks and their rides. Engine Masters is more tech focused (again, appeals to the technician in me) and shows how choices in engine components can affect performance.

(64,389 posts)Top Gear (the "original" with Clarkson, Hammond and May) as well as the latest Top Gear, both from the BBC, as well as the two "American" versions are all good fun.
Wheeler Dealers has taught me more about wrenching (albeit mostly on cars I'll never own by choice) without a bunch of stupid drama. The "trend" of injecting needless drama with the builds/shops/people in some of the shows on MT have made them unbearable. This sole thing has put Goblinworks on the brink of unwatchable at this point. Ugh, anyone remember Fast 'n Loud w/Rawlings at Assmonkey Garage?
My guiltiest pleasure is All Girls Garage (and now Motor Mythbusters) on MT. Talent and brilliance notwithstanding, I could watch Faye Hadley work on a toaster and be enthralled.
Chasing Classic Cars is always good, as are the auctions. You may want to check out the Barrett Jackson ones as well, also airing on MT (or one of their other channels) from time to time.
