I didn't see a headline. I didn't see a story. Did I miss it?
It happened 50 years ago today, April 8, 1975. Robinson inserted himself in the lineup as a player-manager DH and hit a home run.

(169 posts)Fearing what trump and the anti-DEI folks will say or do, the media ignores contributions and celebrations of American achievements if they are non-white. I fucking hate what this country has become. Fucking hate it!

(41,071 posts)Ridiculous that this wasnt mentioned on MLB.com! Are they afraid Trump will shut them down for printing a story on black history?

(40,438 posts)They were still talking Frank Robinson. They were describing his ridiculously lousy fielders glove, It was kinda like a first basemans glove with NO pocket.
WOW, I believe I just heard Carl Yastrzemski hooting from Florida after his grandson splashed a tenth inning two-run-walk-off homer. WooHoo!

For posting this and bringing it to our attention.
MLB does not seem to have any mention on its website today and this is indeed shameful.
On the Mets broadcast today, the announcers ran a clip of Hank Aaron breaking Ruths home run record but I dont recall mention of the anniversary of Frank Robinsons 50th anniversary of becoming the first black manager.
There is, however, an article on the Baseball Hall of Fame website.
