Because Wrigley Field is a neighborhood ball park, the flag that flies after the game announces to the neighborhood whether the Cubs won or lost.
We knew about it growing up in the 60's, 70's & 80's, but it took off in the World Series season of 2016.

The flag that flies when they win, is a white flag with a blue W & it flies to the left of the main flagpole
Fans wait after the game, to watch the flag go up.

It is a very cool 😎 tradition.

and ending on the last day of the season (which was the last day of the regular season or the last day of their postseason). In 2016, I left a huge framed poster of the front pages of the Chicago Tribune when they won the NLDS; the NLCS; and the World Series up all year until the start of the next season.

I never flew the W because I was afraid people would think I supported George W. Bush, but after he left office, I had a little W flag I would put out on my desk.

GO CUBS GO!!!!
