(12,886 posts)According to the announcers if Ohtani was tagged out before Edwards
stepped on the base a tying run would not count.
I enlarged a screenshot from the replay, which seems to show the runner
from third sliding into home before Ohtani was either tagged or ruled out
of the baseline for the second out.

"Was the baserunner on 3rd forced or not?" I dunno.
Talk about nuances ~ great observation Auggie!
