50 years ago today, 1970 All-Star Game: Pete Rose's unnecessary hit on Ray Fosse

July 14, 1970.

Sometimes I feel sorry for Pete Rose, being banned and all. And then I remember this. Legal or not, it was a douchebag play.

Pete was always about Pete, whether trying to set records, or having mistresses in every NL city, or being a lousy father while saying he was signing multi-million deals proclaiming he was doing it for his family, or breaking the cardinal sin of baseball. Fuck him.
