Never made it to Cooperstown despite having good career numbers and the only person to hit walk off HR in game 7 of the World Series.

And this was kinda even more epic cause it was in the 15th ...

The third point above led to Robin Ventura's "Grand Slam Single" in the 1999 NLCS. In the bottom of the 15th inning, the New York Mets tied the score against the Atlanta Braves at 3–3. Ventura came to bat with the bases loaded, and hit a game-winning grand slam to deep right. Roger Cedeño scored from third and John Olerud appeared to score from second, but Todd Pratt,[21] on first base when Ventura hit the home run, went to second, then turned around and hugged Ventura as the rest of the team rushed onto the field. The official ruling was that because Ventura never advanced past first base, it was not a home run but a single, and thus only Cedeño's run counted, making the official final score 4–3.

Seriously how pissed are you if you're Robin Ventura? You would've been the record holder, first person to EVER do something in baseball ... but your dipshit teammate screwed you out of it?

Without knowing what kind of a person Robin Ventura was like (what a great name, BTW) I would hazard a guess that he was probably happier to get the win than he was to get into the record books! Well maybe after all was said and done he thought about it a little but anyway what a great story. Thanks Mr_l.
