Tim Hudson, Michael Morse lead Giants over Cubs

Those Tim Hudson and Michael Morse signings keep looking better and better.

The Giants own the majors' best record, and why not make the new guys reasons A and B? Tuesday night's 4-0 victory over the Cubs supplied the latest proof. Hudson had another dominant start, Morse another two hits.

Sure, Angel Pagan is healthy and producing. He singled twice and scored twice in the Giants' 33rd win. Yeah, Pablo Sandoval, who ran his RBI streak to seven games, and Buster Posey, who had two sacrifice flies, have had their shining moments. Like most everyone else, including a heap of pitchers.

But nothing energizes a team quite like difference-making additions, and that's what general manager Brian Sabean received with a relatively low free-agent price tag of $29 million.
