so I don't have an opinion, but it never looks good to the average person when people making millions of dollars per year go on strike. I hope they get things worked out soon.

I guess there's no point in even asking how dumb both sides could possibly be for not even attempting to negotiate, if only as a half-assed goodwill gesture to their diminishing fan base. I recall asking myself the same question back in 1994, and the answer was a cancelled World Series and PR disaster that permanently damaged the sports' prestige.
