Those seats have to cost a fortune.

Maybe they are watching highlights of the game they are currently attending.

We spend a fortune (for us) just to go to one or two games a year and sit in mid level seats.

I've seen that at games. But also, baseball has a lot of standing around waiting for something to happen. It's easy to get distracted - until you get beaned by a foul ball.

5. It depends on the ballpark and the game. Wrigley is the most expensive.

Club box seats behind home plate are $119 for the Brewers game tonight. Those same tickets for either of the Cardinals games on Saturday are $277.

DH and I once went to a Phillies game courtesy of Independence Blue Cross (I was a benefits manager) in their corporate box seats. Damn! Catered food, beer and wine, and good seats too.

That's why often many of them are empty. People have less incentive to actually go to the game if they got the tickets for free.

Decades ago I played hooky and went to a day game at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. I asked the ticket window for the best seat in the house. It was located two seats to left of the homeplate umpire, second row. There was no one in front of me. Cost me $45. Best seat for watching baseball (aside from my couch) I ever had.
