planning a spring migration trip. suggestions?

DH wants to go somewhere for a week where there is nothing to do but sit on the beach and stare at the ocean. i have never been to cape may, and am considering this. a certain member here seems to think i could find a nice spot down on the outer banks.
so, good, peaceful spots and also, which week would you pick?

1. Do you want hella birds, and how do you feel about camping?

The Florida Keys are nice, Sanibel is nice, High Island Texas is nice, and I bet you could get a bargain on Dauphin Island.

2. yeah, hella birds would be good, especially outside my own

"territory". camping is cool. got a little popup that i haven't used in forever, but wish i did. but getting gear to fla would take a bite out of our time.
does sound like a good idea, tho. i hated florida the one time i was there, but the keys might be a different thing. easy pickings for the firsts, i am sure.

what would be the best week, do you suppose?

3. Keys the first week of May

with an overnight trip to the Tortugas.

When I was down there I packed a tent, but we went to Target and got $15 sleeping bags. It's not exactly arctic.
