I didn't even know where to start in the (450 page) field guide but you narrowed it down enough were I could id it!

(19,459 posts)But I thought I recognized the beak type on that one (plus, there is a certain streamlined shape to the body).
The coloration does look right for a Say's Phoebe, judging from the link.
